BETWEEN
HEAVEN AND EARTH:
The
Plight of the Chesapeake Watermen
For
200 years, fishing has been the lifeblood of Chesapeake Bay's Tangier
Island. Between Heaven & Earth chronicles the battle
over crabs and oysters that came to a head in 1995, when the conflict
between watermen and environmentalists turned violent. It shows
how a UW-Madison graduate student's doctoral thesis on faith-based
conflict resolution gave birth to mutual hope and healing, though
many had considered the conflict hopelessly deadlocked.
